Hi, I wonder if you could help. I have just purchased an ex demo 2008 Mini Cooper from a main BMW dealer. I have been supplied with just one key and have been told by the dealer that only one key is provided with all new Minis. I find this hard to believe. I would have tought that a minimum of 3 keys would have been provided (2 main keys and 1 service key). Look forward to hearing back.

All MINIs come with 2 main keys ,make sure they provide you with the second one , also mention the possibility that the 2nd key is 'floating around' somewhere and someone could just walk up to your car and drive away at any time should that key get into the 'wrong' hands , they can provide a new key ( they cost about € 110 I think ) and re-code BOTH keys to new security settings , mention that your insurance company will not pay out should your car be taken and the 'lost' key used to take it .

Yep! - deffo should be 2 keys!!

From 2007 onwards, all MINIs were supplied with 2 disc shaped keys.
