Trying to source a dark silver boot door with a white roof but can't find a good one anywhere. Looking for a JCW exhaust, isofix covers for the rear bench, heated seat wires/harness and the passenger door lock solenoid. Maybe the JCW bumper and grill too.

Rear brakes installed, winding them back in was nearly impossible (even with the tool).

Sourced the tailgate, it's mint! Will be installing over the weekend, fixing the passenger door lock and finally giving the car a long deserved detail.

Should have pictures up soon! :D

Car has a "clunk" under acceleration or when you lift off (but not braking), feels like it's under the passengers seat. Tried packing the control arm bushings with Sikoflex and that had no effect, so it's not those. Could it be engine mounts?

I'm tempted to polybush the whole car, suspension and engine mounts. Any recommendations other than Powerflex?

Check the lower mounting under the back of the engine , if you are thinking of polybushing the MINI be very selective where you use polybushes , we have removed several from customer cars due to harshness , ok if a race car BUT not if used on the road , just use good quality OE bushes .

Have you any suggestions? I was thinking front wishbone rear bushes and upper/lower engine/gearbox bushes.

I would go with front and rear anti-roll bar bushes , possibly lower transmission bush and all others OE as the harshness and vibration is just too much for a road car .

Currently winning an auction for a pack of PU bushes so I'll see how that goes.

In the meantime, since it was freezing this morning, I'd like to get the heated seats working. Does anyone know if it's possible to get this without the switch (as I already have it). Just looking for the cables.

Hi Frank,

They're 17's.

Bottomed out the car yesterday on a bump and the exhaust is drooping. Seems I've a bit more work ahead of me. :(

Hey Dan,
There some work gone into this machine :-) having a read through all the posts.

Are they the JCW Recaros (maybe I missed the photos).

I’ve done some nice mods, 3 spoke is much nicer than 2.
Fitted the alcantara JCW steering wheel to mine, one of the best thing.
Seats and steering wheel - probably the 2 items you touch / use most in the motor.

Thanks Ace,

They're the JCW Recaros alright, pic below is same seats but not my actual ones.

I've actually decided to sell the car (I know, after all the work put into it...). Going to buy a little runaround as I'm hoping to go on at least three different trips (snowboarding, holiday and surf trip) between now and June so just won't need it.

I've already sold the wheels to a guy living locally (with a beautiful blue R56S) and the seats are provisionally sold (but if someone comes up with the money sooner they can have them).

So here's the car as it stands:
