MTI 2010 - a 3 day holiday in your Mini!
Posted: Tue Feb 23, 2010 10:29 amWell ladies and gents, it's on. MTI 2010 - or Minis Touring Ireland in the fifty first year of the Mini - 2010, will kick off on Friday May 28th. I'll be updating this thread with details as the week goes on, but for the moment, the date is enough for most of you to get your holidays booked, and start saving up for petrol.
I'm delighted to announce that this event will be launching from the Joe Duffy MINI Mansion in Dublin City for our members up there who don't get enough of an opportunity to come to our events. We'll also be tying in with a few PR agencies and companies in Dublin to attract some new drivers to this event who have never been on the likes of this before. Which means (As you'll read below) - if you want to attend, you'll need to get your entry in as soon as you possibly can.
Here's the event logo, which will also be a Rally Plate that every attending car will get for their front grill. It's a great momento you can hang on your wall at home when the event is done :
Here's what the MINI Mansion looks like - should be a state of the art venue to kick off from, and I'm sure the guys there will go out of their way to make us feel welcome. We're very grateful to them for the opportunity to use their showroom for the start.
I have only one favour to ask of everyone, and that is that we keep all discussion of this event here on miniclub.ie. Feel free to tell people about it on totalMINI and on Facebook, etc, but it's important so that we can collate the questions in one place, and so we can gauge the popularity of the event, so instead of discussing it on other sites, give them the link to this thread instead.
I'll also be putting up a list of who's going and updating it reguarly. Be advised - we're limiting the amount of cars allowed on the run this year, so if you want to go, put your name down quickly. For our UK friends, we have Ferry discounts arranged as usual, and for anyone not bringing their Mini, we have hire drive arrangements and discounts to sort that too.
Lastly, remember everyone is welcome no matter what Mini they drive. This is the only large scale run in Ireland with no limitations, or bias towards one car or another. We welcome any classic Mini, new MINI, or any derivative with open arms. Hope to see you there!
